We are committed to addressing food injustice within our community. Those living below the poverty line and people of color are most impacted by food apartheid, hunger, diet-related illnesses and more. We are dedicated to providing access to healthy food and helping to address the structural root of these disparities including racial and economic injustice.

Our goal is for 75% of our produce to go towards food equity and the remaining 25% is sold to help us further our mission.

Ways in which we address food injustice:

• Collaborating with local organizations that are distributing food to those in need. A portion of our CSA shares are delivered to families with barriers to access fresh produce.

• Prior to funding being federally cut, providing produce and value-added items to the LFPA (Local Food Purchase Assistance Program): Our partnership sites were Hunger Task Force and Tricklebee Cafe.

• Partnering with Nourish Food Pantry to provide produce to their pantry sites.

• Donating excess produce after our markets to Bountiful Baskets, a partnership with Kingo Lutheran Church and the Gathering Place.

• Providing space on our farmland for other community organizations to learn how to grow their own food.

• Providing programming to teach others how to grow their own food, including children.

• Donating excess produce to pay what you can stores and cafes in Milwaukee.

We are committed to the healing of mind, body, and spirit. We recognize that often in our struggle for peace and justice we must find reconciliation and healing.

We believe that all humans should have access to healing of mind, body and spirit regardless of their ability to pay.

Ways in which we provide healing:

• Mental Health Services virtually (fall 2026 available) and in person on the farm (spring 2027 available) by Licensed Professional Counselor, Amy

• Reiki services by Reiki Master Martice Scales

• Wellness retreats on-farm (Spring 2027 launching) and off-farm (available locally and regionally)

• Our medicinal healing garden will open spring 2027

• Healing groups and wellness services for adults and youth launching 2027

• If an individual does not have insurance or funds to cover their sessions, we offer pay-what you can sessions as often as we can

We recognize that our world is broken, and in urgent need of change. Our agricultural food system has been built on the backs of those enslaved and the exploration of Black and Brown workers and migrant famers.

Indigenous communities and communities of color continue to be adversely impacted by food and other large corporations’ license to pollute land, water and air. Communities of color continue to have unequal access to fresh food due to food deserts.

Ways in which we address racial injustice

• We are committed to supporting and partnering with BIPOC organizations in providing programming and collaborating on events

• Providing space on our land when possible to individuals and organizations or color

• Helping train the next generation of farmers in our new farmer training program (launching 2028), especially BIPOC and female farmers who have been historically discriminated against in obtaining farmland

• Doing our part to help dismantle racist systems in order to help transform our food system by listening to our communities impacted, partnering with other organizations already doing the work, and providing produce and services to individuals and organizations who have faced oppression.

We believe that all of humanity has unimpeachable value simply because we are human.

We are a community that welcomes all, and strive to foster an environment of purposeful inclusion where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given the opportunity to be heard. We celebrate and cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, gender identity, range of abilities, financial means, education, and perspectives.

These beliefs and practices apply to all of the activities of our business; they inform all of our decisions, including our employment decisions, our market/event decisions and our partnership decisions.
